Italy here I come! I have never been to Italy, nor have I ever been an aupair, but there is a first for everything. After spending four months in Sonoma on my semester away from Pitzer College, I will spend the last three in Lake Como, or Lago di Como, Italy. Enjoy the adventures as they unravel...!

Two Weeks Away...
I have two weeks until I take off on my journey.
It still does not quite feel real to me - reality has not hit yet. Where will I be and what will I be doing???
I have had many email and skype conversations with Barbara and her family, and they all seem very excited to have me.
And three shopping trips later I feel ready to go!
Who will I meet and what will I do? So many questions are floating in my mind, but if my flight left tomorrow I would be ready!
I have been keeping myself preoccupied, but to be quite honest, I am a bit bored over here and ready for this adventure!
I am excited to blog, and to share the culture, people, place, geography, travels, foods, adventures, etc. etc.
I thoroughly enjoyed my Mexico blog, and am hoping Italy will be just as exciting!!!
How Did I Even Land Such a Gig?
Lucky me....
One day after yoga class, my teacher Anne O'Brien comes up to me and asks, would you be interested in being an aupair for a family in Italy? Um.....yes!
So, before I know it, one thing leads to another and a few emails and skype conversations later, I am on my way!
I am to live in Lake Como Italy for three months before my return to Pitzer College. What my life and daily activities are to consist of I am still not sure, but I do know that I will be living in a household with Barbara and Giovanni and their three children Allegra (8), Giacomo (5) and Carlos (1). Oh, and don't forget the dog Viola and donkey (name unknown).
What do I need/how can I prepare myself for this journey?
Not much...I bought a few nice shirts and I am ready to go! I just want May first to come quicker.....I am ready to leave this SonomaTown!!!
